It took a jury 30 minutes on Friday to convict a Norwalk man on trial this week for slashing the mother of his young daughter and her new boyfriend. Divenson Petion, 27, is facing a maximum 40 years in jail after being convicted of two counts of first-degree assault when he returns to court to be sentenced Jan. 9. The guilty verdicts followed two days of testimony at state Superior Court in Stamford that brought Petion's former girlfriend and mother of his four-year-old daughter and her boyfriend to the witness stand.
