Born in Berlin, N.H., and raised in Jay, Maine, she was the daughter of Amedee and Leonie Maurais. An active member of St. Matthew Church in Norwalk, she worked as financial secretary for more than 23 years and was also a longtime member of the church choir and of New Horizons.
