Jared Denny, 39, of 2 Paradiso St., was charged with interfering with an officer and breach of peace. His bond was set at $5,500, and his next court date is Sept. 12. Witnesses said Denny polished off a bottle of liquor before entering the courthouse Wednesday morning. Police say he was acting belligerent in Courtroom C when a marshal removed him from the courtroom. Out in the hallway, he began threatening and berating the court marshals, focusing his anger on one particular marshal and repeatedly calling him a "fake cop," police said. When he ordered the marshal to put handcuffs on him, he got his wish, police said.
