Shortly before 3 p.m., according to Darien police, Che Kyriel McCoy of Norwalk entered the Bank of America branch on Sedgwick Avenue and tried to cash a check in the amount of $976.57. Bank employees, for a reason not mentioned in the police report, became suspicious of McCoy, who then became nervous and left the bank - leaving behind the learner's permit he was using for identification and the check itself, which was purportedly from the "American Locksmiths AAA Sales & Service" of New York City.
