State grants of $7.8 million target regional acres for preservation

Nearly $7.8 million in state grants will be awarded in 25 communities to purchase 2,237 acres to be preserved as open space, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy announced Tuesday. In addition, $96,250 was awarded to establish community gardens in New Haven and Norwalk.
