Ernest J. Herold, 85, Longtime Norwalk Resident, Insurance Agent

Ernest J. "Ernie" Herold, a longtime resident of Norwalk, and Hope Mills, N.C., died November 20. He was 85. Herold was born June 15, 1929, to Ernest J. Herold Sr. and Irene Herold. He grew up in The Bronx, N.Y. He attended St. Joseph's College Seminary at Dunwoodie, N.Y., in study for the priesthood before leaving to spend three years in the U.S. Army.
