For several weeks entering 2015, a short but strenuous debate on eminent domain left in limbo the the small business tenants of Colonial Square Shopping Center on Main Street in Stratford, Conn.Photo: Alexander Soule Connecticut and Fairfield County have had higher-profile cases of companies forced to relocate against their will -- whether New London's landmark eminent domain case sparked by a Pfizer expansion that went to the U.S. Supreme Court in 2005; or more locally, the case of Maritime Motors in Norwalk, which took its fight to the Connecticut Supreme Court that same year, ultimately forced to move to clear a development lot that stayed vacant for a decade.
