A motorist has been charged with negligent homicide in connection with the death of Janice Pielert, who was struck while she crossed the intersection of Hoyt and Summer streets in Stamford on July 21, police said. Natalie Gainer of Norwalk has been charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, failure to grant right of way to pedestrians in a crosswalk and obstructed view.
