Fairfield County is expected to escape the brunt of the snow and blizzard-like conditions in the latest storm making its way through the Northeast, but a quick blast of snow will be followed by dangerously cold temperatures and wind-chill factors. After the snow is expected to wind down by around 9 a.m., temperatures will struggle to get higher than 14 to 16 degrees during the day Sunday, with wind-chill factors between -5 and -10 and wind gusts as high as 45 to 50 miles per hour.
