NORWALK By CHASE WRIGHT Hour Staff WriterOfficers were alerted to the situation shortly before midnight after a 16-year-old Norwalk woman flagged down a passing patrol car, Norwalk police Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. The teenage victim claimed that she was walking home when a man in a green pickup truck tried to solicit sex from her near the intersection of Chestnut and Monroe Streets, Cotto said. The officer escorted the girl home, then began searching the area for the truck, she said. Police found the vehicle a few minutes later parked near the intersection of Chestnut and Merritt Streets, Cotto said. All the windows on the truck were rolled down, she said, and the driver -- later identified as Marc Dehaemer, 47, of 9 Bartlett Ave. -- was not inside. However, police found Dehaemer's 4-year-old son asleep in the passenger seat of the truck unattended, Cotto said.
